Jan’s determination in the training process is incredible. He always seeks space for improvement. Real professional.
My career as a coach took off shortly after the end of my career as a professional goalkeeper. Since then I managed not only to establish a Union of football professionals, also known as UFP but also to step up my coaching game.
On my way toward becoming a professional goalkeeper coach, I achieved many licenses, such as the Slovak National GK license, UEFA A license & UEFA Goalkeeping A license.
The education I obtained helped me to apply the experience I gained as a professional goalkeeper. I passed it on to my trustees and by joining our forces we managed to win Polish Ekstraklasa two times in a row.
Now, I am open to new opportunities where I can share my knowledge and experience to build a strong foundation for every team - goalkeepers.
Artur Boruc is known for his extensive experience as a goalkeeper for Legia Warszawa, Celtic FC, ACF Fiorentina, Southampton FC, and AFC Bournemouth. He made his return to Legia Warszawa in 2020 where I got the opportunity to become his coach.
Our cooperation led me to realize the importance of mutual respect. I would describe Artur as a player, whose training is aimed to be prepared for a match, rather than an effort of finding his style of play.
His broad experience helps him to be aware of his strengths & weaknesses, which we did not try to eliminate but rather incorporate into the game.
Radoslaw Majecki is a synonym for focus and mental toughness. From my point of view as a coach, Radoslaw is a very promising player determined to work on his abilities.
During his training process, we improved controlling the ball with his feet, and stepped up his game by catching high-balls, which I consider to be his domain.
Radoslaw also happens to be the player with the most expensive transfer in the history of Legia Warszawa and the whole Ekstraklasa to AS Monaco, which gradually reflects his potential and ambitiousness.
Cezary Miszta is another perspective player who’s home club is Legia Warszawa. During training sessions and many matches he attended and proved his versatility.
Our training process is based on balancing both mental and physical capabilities. His eagerness to work hard on his form moves him further regardless of age.
Using modern technologies can enhance the training process and help me to spot imperfections that cannot be carried out by the naked eye. Collecting data I obtain helps me to reflect on the overall training process.
The observational analysis is thoroughly connected to using modern technology in coaching. I attach importance to knowing both, the strength & weaknesses of each player and their active implementation of their training.
Clear communication is important to effectively interact within a relationship of a coach and players to not only provide feedback for further performance development, but also to convey a genuine interest I have towards my trainees.
My previous career experience as a professional goalkeeper allows me to guide my trainees through the complete process and to help them handle its highs and lows. Thanks to the credibility I gained as a former athlete I can relate to my players.
Training introduction begins every season because it contains key elements. A special approach is one of them. Drawing up attention to problematic areas of an individual is part of the preparation plan, which depends on many variables.
During my time as a goalkeeper coach, one of the most important things I have learned is to logically integrate training and practice programs of goalkeepers with the rest of the team.
As I mentioned above, a special approach to an individual is key. It is necessary to understand the importance of natural sequences of learning and therefore to draw up a preparation plan based on the developmental age of a goalkeeper and not a chronological one.
Development is all about the repeated practice of a certain skill based on feedback from the coach - me. I like to work with the approach ‘’theory to practice’’. This method let me lead technical sessions followed by my feedback.
After its correction and practice, I try to simulate problematic situations for my trainees. Later on, we can continue with its application in a competitive setting.
My trainees appreciate this approach because it is a combination of practical use of physical and mental strength set in a stressful environment.
Perfecting the skills of my trainees is not contingent on training elements applied necessarily in the field. I use weight training as a tool to improve the most subtle of their skills including speed, power, and its combination - explosiveness.
Maintenance has the task of exposing my trainees to the greatest level of competitive difficulty to not only push their limits but also discover them.
During this phase, I confront my trainees with real match situations to maintain reaction speed and their reflexes towards the ball.
